Introduction

Created for those affected by speech difficulties, Chatter is a Voice Output Communication Aid (VOCA) that fits in your pocket and can be used in everyday situations within the home and out.

The application can be used in two different ways. Pre-recorded default phrases are already in place for straightforward basic usage; alternatively, personalised sentences can be formed by combining single words and numbers. Customised phrases can also be accompanied by images selected by the user.

The history

The idea of Chatter came out of chat over the dinner table with some friends a while ago. The discusion went around on how expensive are the current VOCA solutions in the market.

As a Software engineer I enjoy learning different techonlogies and Chatter became the perfect excuse for me to get into the world of Windows Mobile.

I choose Windows Mobile because my goal was to make the tool cheap, and Windows Mobile offers the widest range of devices and at much better price than iPhone and Android phones.
